VRay
V-Ray is a rendering system originally developed by Bulgarian company Chaos Group as a renderer plugin for Autodesk 3dsmax and MAXON CINEMA 4D. V-Ray is a global illumination raytracer with support for different global illumination algorithms, 3d motion blur, accurate depth of field, physically based materials etc.
V-Ray's current version is 1.5, which has a new type of filter, the Reinhart and has a Sun Light and a V-Ray Skylight map. It also has a physically based Camera. The main advandage of the V-Ray renderer is the quality/speed analogy. It can be very fast for preview renderings with little loss in quality compared to the final image, but in order for that to happen all the parameters of the renderer must be taken into consideration. That means that it takes a lot of time to master it, but it's worth it. If you are counting on fast results with medium quality, then V-Ray is the best choise for you. V-Ray is mostly used by architect's and decorators, the combination of it's GI engines are best suited for interior renderings.
