Heidi

Heidi is a 3D API by Autodesk that is based on higher level primitives than that used by OpenGL

The name "Heidi" (which sounds like a typical German/Swiss name from the Alps) actually comes from the acronym HDI which stands for HOOPS Device Interface. HOOPS on the other hand is an even longer acronym standing for "Hierachical Object-Oriented Painting System" which was initially developed by Ithaca Software and later acquired by Autodesk for use in both its AutoCAD and 3D Studio MAX product lines.

Current version (as of AutoCAD 2007 / 3ds Max 9) is 9.
