Basic Terms of Use

By using any of the CGSociety.net web sites ("CGSoceity Services"), a service of Ballistic Media Pty Ltd a South Australian company, "Ballistic Media", you are agreeing to be bound by the following Terms of Use.

The CGSociety Manifesto

The CGSociety is for creative digital artists. This is anyone that uses computers to tell a visual story including anyone who is just interested in visual stories, viewing and participating in them, their creation and the industries surrounding them. No matter what the format or scope, telling a visual story is the thread that ties this community together The CGSociety is committed to enhancing the global state of creative digital arts. It celebrates, aggregates, supports, trains and promotes creative digital artists in their local and global communities. The CGSociety is unbiased in its enthusiastic support of all genres, styles, tools and outlooks. It supports everyone from casual visitors to enthusiastic beginners to the industry leaders in every aspect of our global community.

Basic Terms

You agree with the focus of the CGSociety as described in the CGSociety Manifesto and wish to participate in the spirit of enhancing the CGSociety community through your participation. When using CGSociety Services, interacting with other CGSociety users and/or posting User Submissions you agree that:

  1. You will be courteous and polite. Show respect to the opinions and feelings of others. Use of the forums is a privilege, not a right.
  2. You are solely responsible for any harm your own words, images and any other material you post may cause.
  3. You are solely responsible for any activity that occurs under your screen name.
  4. You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
  5. Not dilute the CGSociety Websites with irrelevant and unnecessary fluff. In every interaction within and on CGSociety you agree to adhere to the goals and themes outlined in The CGSociety Manifesto.
  6. When interacting, critiquing or just commenting on other CGSociety users or their User Submissions you will be constructive and relevant to improving the quality User Submissions and/or enhancing CGSociety users and community in the spirit of The CGSociety Manifesto.
  7. You will not slander, abuse, harass, threaten, impersonate or intimidate other CGSociety users.
  8. You will not use CGSociety Services for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
  9. You will not engage in any activity that could be interpreted as Spamming other CGsociety members.
  10. You will not attempt to, participate in or enable any collection of aggregate data on CGSociety users.
  11. You will not transmit any worms or viruses or any code of a destructive nature.
  12. You use CGSociety Services at your own risk and you agree that by using the CGSociety Services you will be exposed to other CGSociety Users Submissions and you agree that Ballistic Media cannot be responsible for this material.
  13. If you break these agreements, your access to and your CGSociety Services account(s) may be terminated at the sole discretion of Ballistic Media.
  14. Ballistic Media has the sole right to terminate or restrict your user account and access to CGSociety Services at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice.
  15. CGSociety Services are provides "as is" and "as available".
  16. If you become aware of any inappropriate and/or illegal use or materials you will report them immediately to us at mailto:report@ballisticmedia.net

Basic Conditions

  1. We reserve the right to terminate, modify or block your access and accounts to CGSociety Services with or without cause, with or without notice at any time.
  2. We reserve the right to alter these Terms of Use at any time with or without notice.
  3. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.
  4. We may, but have no obligation to, remove User Submissions and user accounts containing material that we deem in our sole discretion are unlawful, offensive, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene or otherwise objectionable or violates any party's intellectual property or these Terms of Use.
  5. These basic terms of use and conditions are to be interpreted as defined in the full CGSociety Terms of Use.

Copyright

By making User Submissions you don’t give up any ownership rights to your works. However, by making User Submissions you agree that Ballistic Media has the right, but not the obligation, to make your User Submissions available to other users and to the general public in part or in whole for any legal use within the spirit of The CGSociety Manifesto. If you beome aware of any copyright or other intellectual property infringement you must report it immediately as detailed in our Millennium Copyright Protection procedure.
