Alias

Until mid-2006 owned Maya, one of the most successful 3D software in the industry. Was bought out by rival Autodesk (publishers of 3D Studio Max and AutoCad).

Many in the industry feel this is a step back for Maya, especially conerning service. Although the release of Maya 8 has seen some improvements, new tools, and better integration with 3D Studio Max, users have suffered directly on service from Autodesk. Some Maya Autodesk Certified Training Centers have complained that they are getting no attention from the software maker whereas before with Alias they were considered an important asset of the franchise.
